How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
Dive Marine Offshore Services Limited (“DMOS”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit divemarineoffshore.com (the “Website”) or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (“NDPA”) and other applicable law.
1. Who we are
Dive Marine Offshore Services Limited is a company registered in Nigeria with its office at Plot 293 Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. For the purposes of the NDPA, we are the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to respond to you and to run our business:
- Information you give us — such as your name, company, job title, email address, phone number, country or location, the service you are interested in and details of your project, when you complete a contact or quote form, email or call us.
- Recruitment information — such as your CV, qualifications, certifications and employment history, if you apply for a role or send us your details.
- Technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit, which our hosting provider records automatically in server logs for security and performance purposes.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data through the Website. Please do not include health, financial or other sensitive information in enquiries.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and prepare quotations and proposals.
- To enter into and perform contracts with our clients and suppliers.
- To assess job applications and manage recruitment.
- To operate, secure, maintain and improve the Website.
- To meet our legal, regulatory, health, safety and environmental obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Lawful basis for processing
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis under the NDPA, namely: your consent; the performance of a contract with you or steps you have asked us to take before entering into one; compliance with a legal obligation; or our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
5. Cookies and third-party services
The Website does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or third-party analytics. To display our typefaces, your browser connects to Google Fonts and Fontshare, which may receive your IP address in line with their own privacy policies. If we introduce analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
6. Sharing your information
We share personal data only where necessary, and with parties bound by confidentiality:
- IT, hosting and email service providers who support our operations.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors and insurers.
- Subcontractors and partners where needed to deliver a project you have engaged us for.
- Regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where we are required by law to do so.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection, as required by the NDPA.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to manage the enquiry and any resulting business relationship. Unsuccessful job applications are kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to keep them longer. After that, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
9. How we protect your information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls and restricting access to staff who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Subject to the NDPA, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@divemarineoffshore.com with the subject line “Data Protection Request”. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
11. Children
The Website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
